Evergreen Academy is a cost-conscious, four-day, K–12 school with a Biblical worldview, rooted in both enduring models of ancient learning and modern Biblical neuroscience. At Evergreen Academy, we embrace how children actually learn.

Here, we reclaim education.

Our Story

Believing that there needed to be an alternative to existing education in Tyler, Evergreen Academy started as a simple prayer: like Mary, "treasuring in her heart" that which surrounded imminent birth. This endeavor to balance quality education and cost, as well as blend the ancient Judeo-Christian model of education with the current brain science of how children learn best, turned from prayer to promise when like-minded families came together "for such a time as this". Poised to explode, Evergreen Academy will open fall 2026.

Our Priorities

• ‘Neuro-Responsive’ Learning: Often misunderstood, this means science—and therefore schooling—is catching up with the Bible. At EA, children thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually in an intentional environment where the Bible is more than a class, but a barometer of truth. Biblical neuroscience aligns with God’s unique design for family, freedom, relationship, and learning, and is fully integrated at EA. (Ephesians 2:10, Romans 12:2, 2 Timothy 1:7)

• Assessment-Led Learning: Assessment-driven placement in cohorts rather than classes allows children to progress
based on mastery that is identified by assessments, teachers' professional observation, and reinforced by you as the parent. This personal and individualized learning pace is university or "real world", free from the emotional distraction of comparison, while still honoring individual growth and development. (Galatians 6:4–5, 1 Corinthians 12:4–6, Luke 16:10)

• Timeless Learning: We root education in God’s Word, His enduring principles, and proven ancient and heritage models, preparing lifelong learners. This stands in contrast to modern systems established when God’s design was removed from traditional schooling. A Hebraic model that redeems the Greco-Roman ideology of schooling and the Judeo-Christian reasoning used in early American education are our two parameters for timeless learning. (Luke 2:52, Proverbs 18:15, Psalm 119:105, Proverbs 3:7, Ecclesiastes 1:9, Jeremiah 6:16)

• And, Rooted Systems: Our framework is “rooted”. We cultivate a supportive community through family partnership, communication, faith, and student success. (Proverbs 22:6, Deuteronomy 6:6–7, Ecclesiastes 4:9–10, Hebrews 10:24–25)
